Thomas & Friends Begins 65th Celebrations in the U.S.

In celebration of Thomas & Friends' 65th anniversary in the U.S., HIT Entertainment has paired up with a number of partners, including Minor League Baseball, Celebration Foods and others.

Thomas & Friends-branded nights with 22 Minor League Baseball teams have begun taking place now until June 30. The title nights include a sneak peak of the upcoming Thomas & Friends movies, photo opportunities and free merchandise. In addition, Celebration Foods will serve as the exclusive partner for the events and will offer free Carvel ice cream cake samples and coupons to fans at the games.

Other Thomas & Friends' anniversary partners include Six Flags Entertainment, which will be hosting Thomas-themed birthday parties at U.S. park locations with Thomas Towns. The parties will include entertainment, activities, character meet-and-greets and special Thomas giveaways. Meanwhile, global partner Mega Bloks is donating a giant Thomas replica made out of Mega Bloks to every Thomas Town. Select Six Flag location

will also showcase new two-disc DVD "Thomas & Friends: The Greatest Stories" from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Broadcast partner Sprout will celebrate Thomas' birthday live on-air June 4 during "The Sunny Side Up Show." The channel will air Thomas movie "The Great Discovery" on June 5 and 6. In addition, Sprout has launched a sweepstakes on Sproutforparents.com, where participants have the chance to win Thomas & Friends activity express sets from Golden Book (Random House), "Thomas & Friends: The Great Discovery" DVDs from Lionsgate and Thomas cuddle pillows from Jay Franco.
