Warner Bros. Consumer Products U.K. has signed a deal with Swizzels Matlow that will result in Scooby-Doo versions of some of the confectioner's best-selling lines, including the Love Hearts and Drumstick Lollies.
The treats are scheduled to hit retail in first quarter 2011.
"Just like Scooby-Doo, Swizzels Matlow has a very proud and respected tradition of producing quality products that can be enjoyed by the whole family," says Mark Walker, sales director of Swizzels Matlow. "We're delighted to be working with the team at Warner Bros. and look forward to developing a fun range of sweet treats that leverages the iconic status of our respective brands."
Paul Bufton, general manager of WBCP U.K., adds: "Scooby-Doo is synonymous with eating and quality family fun and there are few partners who understand this market, as well as Swizzels Matlow. We look forward to welcoming them into the Scooby-Doo licensing program as the new animated television series 'Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated' launches on Cartoon Network and our new mobile marketing experience the Mystery Mansion hits the road, it's a very exciting time for the brand."
