Crown Creative has tapped Faresak to represent Japanese character brand Sugar & Babe throughout Latin America, extending its agency contract beyond Brazil.

Meanwhile, Faresak has appointed IMC Licensing as a sub-agent to handle the property in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. In addition, Piegrande is on board to manage in Chile.

Sugar & Babe has been in Brazil for three years with more than 30 different licensed offerings in stationery and accessories from partners Foroni and Dermiwil. Upcoming items include travel and fashion bags, as well as a back-to-school line for 2011.

Sugar & Babe launched in 2007 in Japan and has more than 300 boutiques in the country. The property features Sugar, a white, sexy cat, and her counterpart, Babe, a black mysterious and independent cat. The characters are targeted to girls in their teens and young women.
