Harry Potter producer Heyman is partnering with France's StudioCanal to bring the iconic brown bear Paddington to the big screen, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Paul King will direct the CGI live-action film, which will be based on Michael Bond’s best-selling books, the first of which was published in 1958.

StudioCanal is financing and will distribute the film in the U.K., France and Germany and will also handle international sales.

"Mr. Bond’s Paddington is beloved across generations throughout the world. And David Heyman has had tremendous success adapting great British literary works for cinema," says Olivier Courson, chief executive officer and chairman, StudioCanal.
