The Ladies Professional Golf Association has named Streetwear as the official licensee of LGPA apparel. Under the agreement Streetwear will design, manufacture and distribute a LPGA branded women’s apparel collection.
“The LPGA has been focusing on bringing to life our tour’s points of distinction, particularly our unique personalities, which naturally extends to our players’ fashion,” says Jon Podany, chief marketing officer, LPGA. “As the foremost brand in women’s golf, it is a logical extension to create another touch point for our fans which ties to our performance and style.”
The collection will be distributed through golf, department and retail stores in the U.S. and Canada beginning in early 2013.
“Our search for the right partner to create LPGA apparel was made easy once we were introduced to the team at Streetwear,” says Podany. “They have extensive relevant experience with other sports brands, have the perfect infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities, and most importantly the team they put together completely understands the combination of fashion and performance the female golfer desires.”
Will Cropper, formerly of Adidas Golf, will be leading the LPGA project for Streetwear.
