Square Enix will launch a digital manga store this fall in North America and France, as well as a line of Halo: Reach action figures.

The digital manga shop will stock localized editions of popular Square Enix manga series such as "Fullmetal Alchemist" and "Soul Eater." In anticipation of the launch of the paid service, Square Enix has released free downloadable versions of the first chapters of "Fullmetal Alchemist," "Soul Eater," "Black Butler" and "O-Parts Hunter" on its North American and European websites.

Square Enix will continue to work with existing regional publishing licensees for electronic and print versions. The company currently prints titles in 20 countries overseas through partnerships with local publishers.

Also this fall, Square Enix will roll out a series of premium action figures inspired by exclusive Xbox 360 video games Halo: Reach, the prequel to the Halo trilogy. Volume 1 of the range, which launches this fall, includes figures of Noble Six, Emile and Jun. A second

volume is slated for an early 2011 release. The Halo: Reach figures join Square Enix's other lines based on Final Fantasy XIII and Fullmetal Alchemist.

Both the e-store and action figures are being shown this week at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
