In anticipation of MAGIC Marketplace next month, Sourcing at MAGIC has had a major expansion, including two new category launches and more. The fashion-focused convention is also gearing up its FN Platform footwear show in its sophomore year.

Sourcing at MAGIC will showcase more than 700 apparel and footwear manufacturers, fabric mills, trim and component suppliers, print design studios and fashion supply chain providers from more than 40 countries. This year, the event has launched two new sourcing categories Design Elements, showing original design manufacturers, and Footsteps, a footwear sourcing environment for component suppliers and manufacturers. In addition, this season's focus country is India, which will be represented by more than 57 exhibitors.

"As the wealth of resources on the MAGIC show floor continues to grow, we are seeing equally exciting developments in sourcing," says Chris DeMoulin, MAGIC International president and executive vice president of Advanstar's Fashion Group. "The MAGIC Marketplace is definitively the most efficient one-stop shopping resource in the world for the entire fashion industry, and Sourcing at MAGIC's incredible international scope is a tremendous asset for both our exhibitors and retail attendees."

Sourcing at MAGIC will be held Aug. 16 to 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, North Hall.

Meanwhile, FN Platform is reporting a 30 percent increase in exhibiting brands since its launch this past February. More than 1,000 footwear brands from women's, men's, juniors and children are expected, including Robert Clergerie, Marc Jacobs, Geox, Hunter Boots and Stride Rite. FN Platform will take place during the MAGIC Marketplace from Aug. 17 to 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
