Sony Computer Entertainment has formed a PlayStation logo licensing program focused on the development of lifestyle products. Meanwhile, BRB Internacional has been named sub-agent for the PlayStation brand in Spain and Portugal.

The new logo licensing program for the PlayStation brand will be available to participating licensees in a wide range of lifestyle products, including apparel, accessories and housewares. Partners will be able to design their product using the PlayStation logos and other related markings.

Target Entertainment Group recently appointed BRB Internacional as the licensing sub-agent for the PlayStation brand and selected PlayStation software IPs across Spain and Portugal. BRB will manage a merchandise program spanning all consumer product categories excluding PlayStation peripherals and PlayStation-specific accessories.

The PlayStation brand incorporates the PlayStation logo, the format logos: PS one, PlayStation 2 (PS2), PSP (PlayStation Portable) and PlayStation 3 (PS3), DualShock3 wireless controller designs and well-known PlayStation symbols and phrases like "The Game is Just the Start." The PlayStation IPs licensed to BRB are LittleBigPlanet, EyePet, Invizimals and SingStar.

"Our retail clients are really keen to start working with PlayStation's outstanding IPs," says Javier Biern, sales manager at BRB Internacional. "We are looking forward to ensuring these famous gaming characters and brands jump out of the consoles and into consumer products ranges."
