Sony Pictures has appointed new international agents to pursue consumer products and theatrical promotions for its new and classic films and television library abroad.

Planeta Junior, headed by Erwann Chabot and Sotiris Papageorgiou, has been assigned licensing and promotional rights in Iberia, Greece and Eastern Europe; the recently formed Lizenzwerft will handle Germany, Austria and Switzerland led by ex-Warner Bros. regional executive, Peter Bichler; and Forward Licensing, recently founded by Abdel Boazzati, will handle the Middle East region.

In the U.K., licensing has been brought in-house with the appointment of Gustavo Antonioni from The Brand Buro. Antonioni will oversee sales and retail activity as well as assist in managing all of the international agents.

Sony Pictures expects 2013 and 2014 to be big years with new releases including After Earth (the new Will and Jaden Smith film), The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and Cloudy 2: Revenge of the Leftovers.
