Chorion announced that its new preschool show "Octonauts" earned a second season based on strong ratings for children aged four to six.
The series first aired in morning and afternoon time slots on CBeebies in October 2010. Viewer feedback on the CBeebies website, YouTube and Facebook has been very encouraging.
Fisher Price will release an "Octonauts" toy line this August in the U.K., and publishers Simon and Schuster (U.K.) and Hachette Jeunesse (France) are already on board for complementary books.
"We are thrilled by the response from children and parents to Octonauts," says Bettina Koeckler, Chorion's senior vice president of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Asia. "It has only been on air for a few months and already kids appear to have taken the show and its characters to heart. We are delighted that parents are already so supportive of the brand and anticipating the launch of the toys this year."
