Japan-based Sanrio Co., parent company of Sanrio, has acquired all shares of Mister Men from U.K. based Chorion. The deal was completed through Sanrio Global Limited, a newly established subsidiary in the U.K.

The agreement includes the entire series of Mister Men and Little Miss characters, and marks the first property acquisition for Sanrio, a company built on original properties such as Hello Kitty, Badtz-maru, Chococat and Keroppi.

Sanrio told License! Global that the acquisition was a natural extension for Sanrio's evergreen portfolio of brands.

The company believes that Mister Men and Little Miss properties have distinctive qualities that resonate with a wide demographic, spanning the tween, teen and young adult markets: colorful, simple yet bold graphical styling, positive messaging and a rich heritage bringing nostalgic appeal to a fan base that grew up with the brands.
