Voozclub and Samsung Electronics have signed a co-development and licensing deal for the Canimals brand. "Canimals" is a 52x7 animation about the high-energy adventures of several can-shaped, CGI animals and the mischief that they are up to in the real, live-action world.

The series is co-produced by Voozclub (creators of Pucca), Aardman Animation and BRB Internacional. The series is scheduled to air on TV in early 2011 and, to coincide with this, Voozclub and Samsung will launch a Canimals SNS Web game on Facebook. Plans are also in the works for several mobile games.

Samsung Electronics expects, through this alliance, to raise its level of competitiveness in the content market, offering game content compatible to various electronic devices. Voozclub hopes the deal will enable it to enter the multi-content global market.

"Convergent content becomes a conversation topic across the world," says Calvin Kim, chief executive officer of Voozclub. "Canimals is a fresh concept for characters, designed for new media and today's youth. By cooperating with Samsung, we will introduce a new business approach for entertainment to the content business industry."
