Elie Dekel, president of Saban Brands, has announced four senior executive appointments, including Nina Leong and Kirk Bloomgarden.

Leong becomes senior vice president of licensing and will oversee all current licensed products and programs, as well as developing partnerships with new licensees on behalf of the company’s properties. Leong served for 11 years at Disney Consumer Products and was instrumental in building the Mickey Mouse character franchise into a $1.3 billion business. She also oversaw retail business development for brands such as Disney Films, Winnie the Pooh and ESPN. She previously worked at The Firm, Cherokee Group and as a consultant for brands that include ESPN, X Games and MiGi. She was the licensing expert for the launch of Britney Spears’ Curious fragrance for Brand Sense Partners.

Bloomgarden has been appointed senior vice president of international licensing and will oversee the expansion of overseas business. He joins from Cookie Jar Entertainment and led CPLG

where he was chief executive officer in London for eight years.

In addition, David Shuman has joined as vice president of finance, overseeing all finance and accounting functions related to Saban Brands. His experience spans 15 years, including at Live Nation and Fox Family Worldwide. Rami Yanni has been named senior vice president of business and legal affairs and will be responsible for all contractual, intellectual property and compliance matters for Saban Brands. Yanni has 17 years experience in intellectual property transactions and licensing.
