The British royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton inspired wedding-related memorabilia and promotional products estimated to earn $2.8 billion, according to a U.K. tabloid.

QVC celebrated the event with a six-hour broadcast Friday that featured more than 70 commemorative William and Kate products. Featured items include Clogau Gold engraved wedding bands, a Dartington Crystal engraved bowl or vase and the Kenneth Jay Lane Princess Sapphire Ring, which has sold more than 53,000 units since its November debut.

Other brands featuring royal wedding products on QVC include smashbox make-up kits, Topps trading cards, Isaac Mizrahi clothing, Mad by Design handbags, The Royal Mint U.K. commemorative coins and Caverswall China cups and plates.

USA Today reported that Toys ‘R’ Us is selling Princess Catherine dolls that look like bride Kate Middleton, Baskin-Robbins is offering royal wedding cakes and Dunkin' Donuts is making heart-shaped wedding doughnuts.

Even Disney’s United Kingdom pavilion at Epcot sold a replica of Kate’s engagement ring, as well as t-shirts, ornaments, perfume and other items.

In the U.K., manufacturers produced mugs, plates, pens, compacts, ashtrays, shot glasses, book marks, reusable bags and car flags, The Advertising Specialty Institute reported.

"As one of the most significant pop culture events of our time, the Royal Wedding has sparked a level of intrigue in almost all of us," says Jane Treacy, QVC program host.
