Marathon Media and Spin Master have announced plans to roll out the Redakai trading card game and television series in Italy.

The TV show “Redakai: Conquer the Kairu” began airing on Cartoon Network June 11 and will be subsequently broadcast on Cartoon Network’s Boing channel, from September to December. Cartoon Network holds the TV rights for the show in the EMEA region (excluding France and Spain), the U.S. and Latin America.

The Redakai trading card game will hit Italian shelves this October, supported by in-store demonstrations and game sessions, as well as a new Italian website.

The trading card game has already launched in the U.S., U.K., Canada and France, and will hit shelves in German-speaking territories, Benelux and Portugal this September, with Spain and Greece following shortly thereafter.

“I knew we had a winner with Redakai from the moment I saw the property,” says Daniela Pavone, general manager, Spin Master, Italy. “The combination of an amazing TV series, a robust retail and kiosk program, plus innovative breakthrough technology in every card, will lead to Redakai revolutionizing the way kids play with trading card games.”
