U.K.-based game developer Rebellion has hired The Sharpe Company to develop licensing programs for its key properties, Judge Dredd and Sniper Elite V2.

“We know there is a huge fan base for these brands, as evidenced through downloads, online engagement and social media forums,” says Charlie Day, president, The Sharpe Company. “This allows us a platform to connect and target the fans with licensed merchandise that will have both collectability and credibility.”

The video game “Judge Dredd,” is based on the 2000 AD comic book, first published in 1977. Actor Sylvester Stallone also played the character in a 1995 movie, and a new movie release starring Karl Urban is set for release this fall, giving the property a built-in fan base.

“Sniper Elite V2” is the sequel to the “Sniper Elite” game, which launched in 2005 and has sold nearly 1.5 million units. The new version launched a few weeks ago, and is currently the No. 1 selling video game franchise in key territories including the U.K. and the U.S.
