Preger Entertainment plans to take the "Vampire Academy" young adult book series by Richelle Mead to the big screen. The book series is published by Razorbill Books, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers Group.

"Vampire Academy" debuted on the New York Times' bestseller list in 2007, and since then the series has sold more than 3.5 million copies domestically and 1 million copies internationally. The sixth and final book is set to hit bookstores this December. Penguin's Razorbill Books is also planning to release a spin-off series in 2011.
