Coolabi is expanding the reach of its preschool brand Poppy Cat, with deals for an app and increased magazine presence.

The U.K.-based Studio Liddell has signed on to create the first Poppy Cat app for iOS and Android devices. The app will be available in English-speaking territories in August.

Coolabi has also expanded its agreement with publishing partner Redan to include Poppy Cat in the first Fun to Learn Friends annual, available in the U.K. and Eire in August 2013. Poppy Cat is already currently featured in Redan’s Fun to Learn Friends biweekly magazine.

The first wave of Poppy Cat products will also hit shelves in the U.K. this summer including toys from Golden Bear and Jumbo Games, TV tie-in books from Macmillan, and apparel from Aykroyds and TDP.

“Poppy Cat’s appeal continues to grow in the U.K. and internationally, and we are excited to be able to develop the range of products we can offer to the show’s audience,” says Natasha Dyson, head of licensing, Coolabi. “We are especially thrilled to be taking Poppy Cat further into the digital space with the new app launching this summer.”

“Poppy Cat” is currently aired in close to 100 territories worldwide with recent broadcast expansions in the U.K., U.S. and France.
