The UK’s Channel X and French production company Moi j’aime la television are launching a joint venture called Nice One to produce live action and animation for 15- to 34-year-olds. Jim Reid is director of business development, Alan Marke is creative director, and Phil Ox is director of programs. Three projects are in development, including the animated sitcom “Popetown,” sold across Europe, Australasia, and the Americas.

Both Channel X and Moi j’aime la television will continue to work independently on their own projects. Channel X is currently in development on a number of sitcoms and entertainment formats for terrestrial channels and is just finishing a sitcom pilot for BBC3. Moi j’aime la television is delivering the second season of family sitcom “Genie in the House” to Nickelodeon UK.
