Pacific Licensing Studio announced an agreement with Rovio for the licensing and merchandising rights to Angry Birds in Southeast Asia and India.

Finnish company Rovio developed the downloadable iPhone game in 2009. Now more than 40 million people play Angry Birds each month. An animated series and several printed product lines are being planned. The licensing and merchandising business is fast becoming equally important as application sales for Rovio.

”We’re extremely excited to be embarking on this partnership with Rovio to develop their consumer products licensing program in Southeast Asia and India,” says Neal Rudge, partner at Pacific Licensing Studio. “Angry Birds is a worldwide phenomenon that is changing the way fans interact with media content, and Pacific Licensing Studio is glad to have a front row seat.”
