The series follows a young ostrich named Olive and her adventures. The animation incorporates actual children's drawings from U.K. schools. A website is planned which will encourage kids to scan and upload their own drawings or create props and characters online, as well as create storybooks.
"We are always looking for innovative and creative new shows which will excite our audiences," says Debbie MacDonald, vice president and programming director for Nickelodeon U.K. "'Olive the Ostrich' is a fully integrated format which will engage with preschoolers across different platforms, so we are very pleased to be working with Blue-Zoo to bring this delightful series to Nick Jr. Olive the Ostrich's social and interactive elements will no doubt strike a chord with preschoolers and parents alike."
