In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. game, Nintendo will host a grand re-opening this Sunday of its flagship Manhattan retail store Nintendo World.
Since its release in 1985, 240 million units of the Super Mario Bros. franchise have been sold worldwide. Current titles include Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Wii and the upcoming Nov. 14 release of Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! for Nintendo DS.
Fans will be able to enjoy hands-on game play of new and classic Super Mario Bros. games, a photo booth and video station to record favorite memories. Visitors are also encouraged to dress up as their favorite Mushroom Kingdom character to pose for photos with Mario. The event is free and open to the public.
