Discovery Communications has launched a new consumer products program for the TLC series “NY Ink” and signed its first partner, Sherry Manufacturing, to produce a line of apparel. The line, which will debut in February 2012, will feature designs from “NY Ink” star Ami James.

The complete program from Discovery is expected to grow to include apparel, accessories, gift and novelty items, home décor and publishing.

“The basis for the designs of NY Ink apparel and accessories is the story behind the art of tattooing and the creative process that is often overlooked,” says James. “With this collection from Sherry Manufacturing, as well as the variety of accessories to come, I hope fans and consumers alike can relate to the collections and own a piece of the art and lifestyle representative of the life of a tattoo artist.”
