JA Apparel, a men's clothing and licensed products manufacturer, has named new appointments to its management team, including Anthony R. Sapienza as chief executive officer, replacing Marty Staff, who has left the company to pursue other ventures.

Sapienza, the new chief executive office, was formerly president and chief operating officer of Joesph Abboud Mfg. Corp. for 13 years.

In addition, JA Apparel has appointed:

  • Kenton Selvey to president of the JA Brand Group, reporting to Sapienza. Previously, he was senior vice president of business development and brand strategy. Selvey has more than 20 years experience in product licensing.

    • Ross Gershkowitz to senior vice president of tailored clothing. He was vice president of sales and has more than 20 years experience in wholesale and retail trade.

"Marty's creativity and drive have been important elements in the business strategy that the company has put in place over the last six years, and we wish him well," says Bill Watts, the company's chairman. "We believe that this new management structure lead by Tony, Kenton and Ross addresses the current needs of our customers and partners while leveraging our two greatest assets: high-quality design and manufacturing based in the U.S. and strategic licensing of the Joseph Abboud brand name."
