Nerd Corps Entertainment has inked deals with several key licensees and agents for its newest boy’s property, Slugterra.

The action-comedy TV series will begin rollout this fall on Disney XD, and product launches will begin in spring 2013, anchored by a toy line from Jakks Pacific.

“We’ve had a tremendous response to Slugterra because it’s a high-quality property that hits so many of the key drivers for boys ages 4 to 9,” says Juli Boylan, head of global consumer products, Nerd Corps. “It’s got all the hallmarks of an evergreen property–transformation, collectibility, battling and dueling with a strong play pattern.”

New licensing agents for the brand include Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (CPLG) in the U.K., Ireland and Benelux; Megalicense in Russia; Elastic Rights in Spain, Portugal, France, Greece and Turkey; Compania Panamericana de Licencias in Latin America and the Caribbean; and Haven in Australia and New Zealand.

“We're thrilled to be working with the team at Nerd Corps on Slugterra, a property with such intrinsic appeal to boys,” says Vickie O’Malley, managing director, CPLG U.K. “Brand Licensing Europe will be our launch pad for the brand, and we look forward to talking about opportunities with licensees across all categories.”

In addition, several new licensees have scooped up the rights to the brand in key categories in North America including:

  • Hybrid Apparel for t-shirts, twofers, fleece tops, tank tops, beanies and thermal tops in the U.S. and Canada;

  • Mad Dog Concepts for boy’s sleepwear in the U.S. including pajama sets, sleep pants, long shorts, boxers and sleeved blankets; and

  • Shout! Factory for home video in the U.S. and its territories.

Nerd Corps Entertainment continues to secure additional licensing agents and licensees for territories and categories around the world, and is presenting the property at both MIPCOM (taking place now in France) and Brand Licensing Europe, Oct. 16-18 in London.
