Nerd Corps Entertainment has announced that its newest global kids property, Slugterra, will begin rolling out this fall with the launch of a television series, website, games and toy line.

The “Slugterra” animated series will serve as the launching pad for the property, which will quickly follow will a full brand roll out.

Global television partner Disney XD premiered “Slugterra” in Canada on Sept. 8 and will debut the show in the U.S. on Oct. 15. Following the U.S. premieres, Disney will continue launching the show around the world throughout 2013. Full episodes of the series will be showcased at MIPJunior, taking place Oct. 6 and 7 in Cannes, France.

“Slugterra is full of all the awesome things that boys in this age group love: blasters, power-ups, transformation, dueling, hanging with friends and exploring a real, secret world,” says Asaph Fipke, supreme commander, Nerd Corps and series creator. “Our approach has been to tell the Slugterra story through visually stunning 3D animation and then continue to tell new parts of that story across multiple platforms.”

To support the series rollout, Nerd Corps Interactive has launched the www.slugterra.com fan site featuring an online game, “Battle for Slugterra,” and will continue to launch new “caverns” for the game throughout the year.

Additional products will begin hitting shelves in spring 2013, including a toy line from Jakks Pacific and iOS apps based on the TV series.
