NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products Group and production companies Electus, 5X5 Media and Magical Elves have partnered with Macy’s, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue to make a selection of the designs featured each week on the reality show "Fashion Star" immediately available for purchase.
This partnership marks the first time that a reality show has created a collection that changes weekly.
H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue will carry the merchandise online and in select stores. Macy’s will carry the merchandise online and in the New York City, Herald Square location each week, as well as stocking the finale episode's product line in 110 stores. Macy's also will feature interactive kiosks in up to 10 major locations.
Retail executives Caprice Willard, vice president and regional planning manager; Macy’s; Nicole Christie, senior executive, H&M; and Terron E. Schaefer, executive vice president and chief creative officer, Saks Fifth Avenue, will be the featured buyers in the series as they purchase fashions for their respective stores each week.
In addition, McCall Pattern, in deal brokered by ACI Licensing, will carry a selection of Fashion Star patterns in its spring catalog and seasonally throughout the year.
