The 2008 World Champion Boston Celtics got more than their rings and celebratory cheers at their season opener Tuesday night. The players were dressed in special-edition jerseys and shooting shirts from Adidas, items now featured in the new 2008 Boston Celtics Champions Collection.

The new line also includes a limited-edition Champions jacket and footwear from Adidas, a special-edition basketball from Spalding, a Champions DVD from Warner Home Video, a Northwest Championship Banner Blanket and jewelry.

The Celtics' jersey features a Celtics 17 Championship Trophy patch, along with gold detailing on the front and back of the jersey. The jersey will be available to consumers in the replica ($50), swingman ($80) and authentic ($180) versions. Adidas has produced only 500 limited-edition Champions jackets ($200) and 500 pairs of its Superstars ($100) footwear line. Adidas has also created Champions headwear, t-shirts and women's items including a track jacket, tanks and t-shirts. This is the first time, Adidas, the NBA's official outfitter, has designed a full line of apparel for a team that has won the NBA Championship. Adidas has also been tagged to a special Champions edition of Kevin Garnett's TS Commander Shoe. Only 17 autographed pairs will be made and will be auctioned off to benefit the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation.

Besides apparel, the collection also includes a Spalding special-edition "Banner" basketball ($60) featuring images of each of Boston's 17 championship banners and the team's logo. A Warner Home Video DVD release, Boston Celtics 2007-08 NBA Champions ($34.99), is available in high-definition Blu-ray and includes an inside look at the team's playoff run along with exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes looks. The line also features a Northwest Championship Banner Blanket ($46) which replicates the championship banner raised at the TD Banknorth Garden Tuesday night, jewelry by Balfour, pins, key chains and drinkware.
