MTV will format several of its shows for European audiences. “Pimp My Ride,” “One Bad Trip” and the docu-series “I Used to be Fat” will be adapted for the Northern Europe territories.

Limelight TV will locally produce “Pimp My Ride” for weekly broadcast in Norway on Visat 4. The series, named “Pimp My Ride Norge,” will premiere April 10.

Spain’s Spin TV has picked up the format rights for “One Bad Trip” and will air the series weekly on German terrestrial broadcaster RTL2 beginning this fall.

In the U.K., “I Used to be Fat” has been optioned by STV Productions and Nordisk in Finland and Sweden. No on-air date has been set yet.

“MTV is known for its cutting edge program development that’s always ahead of its time, which is why we are in the incredibly fortunate position of being able to offer back catalog content like ‘One Bad Trip’ and ‘Pimp My Ride’ that continues to resonate with youth audiences all over the world,” says Caroline Beaton, senior vice president, international program sales, Viacom Media Networks.  “Our recent agreements in Northern Europe demonstrate the continued strength of our content–both iconic library hits and brand new series–and I’m really looking forward to seeing giant franchises such as ‘Pimp My Ride’ come alive in brand new languages to a whole new generation of fans.”
