New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority and consultant Moxie & Company are seeking partners for its new Grand Central Terminal licensing program. The iconic station turns 100 in 2013, and deals have already been signed for the centennial program.

The specialty products will be targeted to New Yorkers, commuters, tourists, railroad and train enthusiasts and historians. A new Centennial logo will be made available for products and packaging along with existing images and materials.

New partners to the program include Ball Watches, which will design and sell high-end collectible wristwatches for men and women designed to railroad standards; and Lionel will develop two O-scale model trains that commemorate the anniversary, one modeled from the New York Central line and a replica of the 20th CenturyLimited.

“This celebration will bring significant enthusiasm from a range of customers seeking memorabilia and a piece of history,” says Mark Heavey, director of marketing and communications, Metropolitan Transportation Authority. “We expect the product lines to reflect all possible price points and to have considerable distribution within New York City, across the country and around the world.”
