Moomin Shop Opens in London

The shop will officially launch Dec. 7 by Pekka Huhtaniemi, Finnish ambassador to the U.K., and Sophia Jansson, creative director and chair of brand owner Oy Moomin Characters.

The shop will offer a vast selection of Moomin products including toys, books, stationery and gifts, housewares, children’s pajamas and women’s and children’s t-shirts. In addition, the shop will carry a selection of memorabilia and limited edition items, including prints of Tove Jansson’s original sketches for the Moomin characters.

The shop features elaborate interiors including a Moomin Forest staircase, a cave and Moomin Valley, while the main shopping area includes specially constructed Moomin houses to display Moomin products. The interior was developed by Edinburgh based Patrick Haddad, a Moomin fan for many years.
