Viacom International Media Networks has announced that U.K. terrestrial broadcaster ITV has secured season one and season two of Nickelodeon’s new animation series, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” for simulcast on ITV1 and CITV.

The two networks will begin airing “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” in spring 2013.

Following a successful series launch Sept. 29, Nickelodeon has ordered 26 additional episodes of the series. The series premiered on Oct. 1 in the U.K. and is rolling out across Nickelodeon channels around the world between now and December 2013.

The re-introduction of this popular franchise also includes an extensive consumer products program anchored by a new toy line from long-standing Turtles partner Playmates Toys.

“ITV is the perfect broadcast home for Nick’s heroes in a half-shell, complementing their hugely popular, action-packed animation line-up,” says Caroline Beaton, senior vice president, international program sales, VIMN. “These deals directly reflect the enormous buzz ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ is generating in the international TV buying marketplace, securing more pre-sale deals than ever before for a Nickelodeon series.”

Additional pre-sales for the series include TVI/Televisão Independente (Portugal), RTL Klub (Hungary), Rádio e Televisão Bandeirantes (Brazil), S&E Media Project/STB QTV (Ukraine), ABS-CBN (Philippines) and Televisora Nicaraguaense (Nicuragua).

ITV and VIMN have also confirmed season three pick-ups of Nickelodeon’s live-action series “Big Time Rush” and “Victorious.”
