Macmillan Children’s Books will publish a series of non-fiction titles aimed at children ages 6-10, targeted to the Beavers and Cub Scout sections. This includes the Scouts Annual. The 2012 edition will be published in next month and features a foreword by Chief Scout Bear Grylls. The three-year deal covers 12 books.

In addition, Simon & Schuster will publish two non-fiction titles for adults. The first is an outdoor cook book that features traditional Scouting fire-building and cooking skills alongside recipes. Written by chef and Scout leader Nick Allen, it will be published next summer.

"Claire and the team at Metrostar have displayed impressive energy in securing these prestigious publishing deals," says Chris James, creative and brand adviser at The Scout Association. "Scouting is growing across the U.K. and Metrostar has helped build our Everyday Adventure brand, while providing high quality resources for young people and adults. The titles also give us a strong profile on the high

street, acting as a shop window for Scouting, showcasing the fun, challenge and adventure we offer to boys and girls and the positive impact we make in our communities.”
