Ex-department store retailer Mervyns' name and Internet-related intellectual properties have been purchased by founder Mervin Morris' family, reports the Wall Street Journal.

Also, four others have bought Mervyns' brand roster, including casual sportswear line High Sierra, women's apparel line Hillard & Hanson and young women's line ellemenno. Details on how much the family purchased the IP for or the identities of the four other parties involved have not yet been released.

At its peak, Mervyns operated 189 stores in 10 states. The chain filed for bankruptcy last summer.
