The U.S. Court of Appeals has denied Mattel's bid for a review by a larger panel of judges for its infringement claims against MGA, the maker of the Bratz doll line.
This past July, a three-member appeals panel ruled that Mattel does not own the rights to the Bratz franchise, overturning a December 2008 order that gave Mattel rights to most of MGA's Bratz line.
The long court battle between the two companies began in August 2008, when MGA's founder and chief executive officer Isaac Larian and the company's Hong Kong subsidiary were found liable for copyright infringement of the Bratz doll line.
