Club Penguin, the virtual world for kids, experienced record traffic during its Marvel Super Hero Takeover, which ended Tuesday.

Over the course of the event, which began on June 14, 20 million play sessions were logged across more than 200 countries, helping to double the site’s number of daily players since the start of the year.

Additionally, more than 2.5 million Marvel-themed items were purchased: Iron Man was the most popular costume, and Captain America’s shield was the most popular item.
