Marvel Comics and Visa have teamed up to create a new financial literacy comic book, “Avengers: Saving the Day.” The free comic that incorporates Marvel characters such as the Avengers and Spider-Man is geared to help introduce children to basic money concepts.

"In today's increasingly complex financial world, we must find creative ways to help parents and educators teach children the fundamentals of money management," says Jason Alderman, senior director of global financial education, Visa. "A comic book with Spider-Man and the Avengers is the perfect device for making the sometimes dull subject of financial literacy entertaining and educational."

“Avengers: Saving the Day” is a 16-page comic book, written by writers such as James Asmus with design by Andrew Di Vito and cover art by Tom Grummet, that pits Spider-Man and the Avengers against Mole Man as he attempts a heist. Lessons about personal finance are incorporated, as is a teacher’s guide which introduces concepts such as budgeting, saving and banking. The comic is free, available globally in print and digital formats and produced in several languages.
