Lionsgate to Remake Dirty Dancing

Lionsgate will produce a remake of the 1987 film Dirty Dancing, directed by the original film's choreographer Kenny Ortega. In 2007, Lionsgate orchestrated a 20th anniversary celebration that included a theatrical re-release of the original film, an anniversary edition DVD and Blu-ray, a re-mastered soundtrack and a full licensing and merchandising program that included retro t-shirts, calendars, board games, infant clothing, PC games and sleepwear.
