Licensing University will hold an "Introduction to the Legal Side of Licensing" question and answer session during the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas.

Jed Ferdinand, partner at Grimes & Battersby, will host the session on June 1 and lead a panel to explain the basics of licensing agreement, trademark and copyright laws as they relate to property protection, enforcement and more. The panel will include Greg Battersby, founding partner of Grimes & Battersby; Christian Fortmann, partner of Sonnenberg Fortmann; Charles Schnaid, CPA and partner of Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co.; and David Rosenbaum, lawyer in private practice, specializing in licensing and merchandising with a focus on entertainment.

Licensing University, made available through LIMA, takes place over a three-day span during the expo and offers more than 30 courses to newcomers and veterans in the industry. The program is also a way to earn a certificate of licensing studies.

The Licensing International Expo will be held June 2 to 4 in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort.
