King Features Syndicate unveiled its new Betty Boop style guide at the MAGIC Trade Show in Las Vegas last week.
The new “iBoop: Betty’s Playlist” style guide, which features 12 distinctive designs based on the popular musical genres over the past 60 years, includes the ‘50s juke box, ‘60s girl groups, ‘60s Mod and psychedelic, ‘70s hard rock, new wave, grunge, hip hop, jazz, county and heavy metal.
"Betty Boop is music to the fashion world, a designer’s dream," says Frank Caruso, vice president of creative for King Features Syndicate. "The style guide represents a cartoon thread that weaves together every genre of music based on Betty’s ability to indulge and appreciate music and fashion as a single art form. Betty Boop has embraced art and music as the highest form of self, cultural and artistic expression."
