The Jim Henson Company has extended its licensing agreement with Tomy International, naming the toy company as the global master toy licensee for its Pajanimals brand. Tomy was initially appointed as U.S. master toy licensing partner in October 2011.

Under the terms of the new multi-year agreement, Tomy will develop an assortment of toys and juvenile products to be sold globally.

Replicating the U.S. product line, the international range will include plush toys based on each of the series’ four main characters, nighttime projectors, monitors, nightlights and a Snuggle Up Story Mat.

Tomy will debut the first Pajanimals products–the plush and Snuggle Up Story Mat– in the U.S. in October. The same product lines will also debut this fall in Australia, with the broader line rolling out in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, Australia and Canada next year.

“Working with The Jim Henson Company has spurred our creativity in the development of products that not only engage children in imaginative play throughout the day, but also help to teach and reinforce nighttime rituals that help children enjoy restful sleep,” says Greg Kilrea, president, Tomy International. “The Pajanimals brand, characters and storylines are universal, and we expect children all over the world will want their own Pajanimals characters and toys to play with at home.”

The Pajanimals toy line is based on the television series of the same name, which follows the adventures of four animals, Sweetpea Sue the pony, Squacky the duck, CowBella the cow and Apollo the puppy.
