JELC plans to expand the textile and ceramics brand into a number of new categories including stationery, greetings cards, apparel, bedding and outdoor living.
“It has long been our hope that we could take our designs beyond ceramics and textiles into carefully selected new product ranges appropriate to our work,” says Wendy Barber, co-founder, Hinchcliffe and Barber. “JELC is the ideal partner to take this work to a wider audience as it has proven experience of art and design brands, as well as global contacts and in-depth knowledge of retail.”
What began in small studio in Dorset is now an internationally recognized design brand featuring a versatility that ranges from printed textiles to photography to screen prints.
JELC reports that licensing interest is already high both in the U.K.
“While some design brands have moved perhaps too quickly to mass market retail to preserve their identity, Hinchcliffe and Barber has the potential to build a truly unique position in the market as a high-end lifestyle property,” says Janet Woodward, director, JELC. “We’re looking forward to working with Wendy on developing this beautiful brand.”
