"Licensing International is the only show of its kind to have this sort of global audience," says Liz Crawford, show director. "We are seeing an increase in delegates from across the world with very large delegations from Germany, Italy, U.K., Asia, China, Korea and Latin America. In fact, most exhibitors are seeing a real uptick in their own meetings slated for the show."
At the 2009 show, 30 percent of all attendees were from outside the U.S. and more than 98 countries were represented.
"We managed to pack in scores of meetings with a high caliber of retailers and licensees," says Tom Keefer, senior vice president of global licensing of BBC Worldwide, which is exhibiting again this year.
International retailers already registered to attend the 2010 show include
"I will be going back, it's a once-a-year trip that is as much about networking as it is about seeing new licenses—to our business it's very important," says Rachel Wyatt, director of marketing for U.K.-based Kinnerton Confectionery.
Advanstar Communications, the owner of Licensing International Expo, also produces international licensing events, including Brand Licensing Europe, which will be held Sept. 28 to 30, 2010, in London, and the recently launched Brand Licensing Central & Eastern Europe, which was held March 8 and 9 in Budapest.
