Fox Consumer Products’ Ice Age property is getting an immersive new attraction in the U.K. The live experience, “Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs–The 4D Experience,” officially opened at Alton Towers Resort March 24.

“Ice Age is one of the most successful family film franchises on the planet and we are perfectly positioned to create new and exciting ways for fans to engage with the brand beyond the film release,” says Carl Lumbard, senior vice president and managing director, FCP EMEA. “By working closely with world-class partners like Merlin Entertainment and the terrific team at Alton Towers, we can deliver a unique, fun and engaging Ice Age experience to fans and consumers.”

The live show allows guests to feel and experience Ice Age through a combination of 3D film elements and synchronized physical effects. There’s also a play area and photo opportunities.

In support of the new attraction, Alton Towers has also opened two fully immersive Ice Age-themed rooms insides its Splash Landings Hotel.

The live attraction is ahead of the July film release of Ice Age: Continental Drift.
