Hornby Hobbies has signed a worldwide license with Adastra Creative, the entertainment company behind the CBeebies preschool show “Grandpa in my Pocket.”

Hornby will produce a range of Grandpa in my Pocket toys including vehicles, figures and play sets under its newly launched Corgi Toys brand.

“The show has such a positive message and brand fit with us–children enjoying time with family and in particular their grandparent,” says Nat Southworth, sales and marketing director, Hornby. “There is also the ‘shrinking cap,’ allowing Grandpa to enjoy toys as well. It’s perfect for the Hornby family of brands.”
Products are expected to hit shelves in fall/winter 2013.

“Fans have been asking for these toys for a long while so we’re extremely excited about Hornby’s plans,” says Mellie Buse, founder and owner, Adastra Creative. “It’s great timing because it ties in with the tour of the first ‘Grandpa Stage Show,’ currently at The Nottingham Playhouse and due to travel the country next year.”

“Grandpa in my Pocket” is currently aired in more than 104 countries worldwide.
