HIT will team with P2 Games to develop and publish the first ever Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam mobile apps and websites, set to launch in Apple’s iTunes App stores worldwide for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users this winter. Other mobile platforms such as Android are expected to follow.
HIT is also developing the Bob the Builder book app produced in partnership with Big Play Company and inspired by the “Bob the Builder” series episode “Muck’s Train to Trouble.” A transformed website, developed by Funny Garbage, will launch this month and include an integrated video player, enhanced games, projects and activities.
The launch of two new Thomas & Friends apps, a continued collaboration with Callaway Digital Arts, will launch in Apple’s iTunes store this month and provide an interactive reading experience for children and their families. Users can read, watch, listen and play with multi-touch animation, CGI video, painting, puzzles and games. Callaway and HIT have also partnered on the new Thomas app Engine Activities, due for release in December. Very Memorable will also launch a new game on www.thomasandfriends.com to coincide with the release of the new Thomas DVD Day of the Diesels.
HIT and developer Primal Screen, in collaboration with Nelvana, will release an all new Mike the Knight website (www.miketheknight.com) globally later this month. The site will offer new content such as animated sequences, a video player, games, activities, printables and more.
“HIT is dedicated to ensuring its preschool brands are fully represented across consumer touchpoints,” says Natasha Fishman, senior vice president, global brand management and digital media, HIT Entertainment. “We are thrilled to be expanding our digital portfolio with Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam and Mike the Knight as well as enhancing our Thomas & Friends offering. These exciting new apps and websites serve to further enrich and extend the overall brand experience we deliver to our audiences.”
