Hasbro, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and PPW Toys have teamed up for a line of Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head inspired by DC Comics super heroes.

"The new collectible line of Mr. Potato Heads inspired by The Dark Knight Rises and iconic super heroes demonstrates the true versatility and pop culture appeal of the DC Comics portfolio for fans of all ages," says Karen McTier, executive vice president, domestic licensing and worldwide marketing, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "PPW Toys with Hasbro have brought the unique sensibility to these endearing figures which will enhance the legacy of the properties they support."

“For the past 60 years, the Mr. Potato Head toy has inspired imaginative play in young children and charmed fans of all ages through his roles in movies and on television,” says Jerry Perez, senior vice president and global brand leader, Playskool. ”We’re thrilled to see that he has evolved from classic parts and pieces to a household name that is ‘rooted’ in pop culture and entertainment.”

In addition to the DC Comics collectible figures, this year will see Mr. Potato Head as The Amazing Spider-Man Spider Spud and Star Wars Darth Tater this spring to support the feature film releases The Amazing Spider-Man and Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace in 3D.

More than 30 licensed Mr. Potato Head characters have been created over the years, including Taters of the Lost Ark and Spud Lightyear.
