As part of the initiative, retailers and consumers will begin to see an even broader range of packaging efficiencies by Hasbro over the next two years, including redesigned disposable boxes and blister packs that use less material. The packaging overhaul will affect brands such as My Little Pony, NERF and Play-Doh. The move will reduce the size of shipping containers by 20 percent as well.

Hasbro has been steadily modifying its packaging procedures over the past year. Las year, Hasbro announced a plan to eliminate PVC packaging from its core toy and game packaging by 2013, and replaced all wire ties with paper rattan or bamboo mix. Hasbro also increased recycled content, and adopted a responsible paper sourcing policy.
