Hasbro Licensing released nine Hasbro-branded iReader apps for young readers on Monday as part of its digital publishing alliance with Ruckus Media Group. The Hasbro-Ruckus iPad library will include apps based on its properties such as Transformers Prime, My Little Pony and Chuck and Friends.
This interactive storybook lineup is now available on iTunes and includes three free titles, one from each brand. Additional titles will carry an approximate retail price of $3.99 each or $5.99 for two. Six-month subscriptions are also available for $24.99, and include access to the entire Ruckus e-book content library, as well as reading assessment benchmarking and reporting tools for parents.
“Ruckus has been very successful in bringing Hasbro branded characters and storylines to life on digital platforms for young readers,” says Margie Chan-Yip, vice president of global publishing, Hasbro. “The latest lineup builds on the core branded-play experience, as well as the popularity of its television series counterparts… by delivering jam-packed action, adventure and fun for youngsters. Together, Hasbro and Ruckus are encouraging kids to read while also providing parents with evaluation tools to monitor progress and proficiency.”
