Mog, the feline creation of best-selling author and illustrator Judith Kerr, celebrates her 40th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion in March 2010, HarperCollins Children's Books will publish a special anniversary edition of the original story, "Mog the Forgetful Cat," first published in 1970, and a "Mog the Forgetful Cat" pop-up edition for this autumn.

There will also be a program of public events and festival appearances, including the Edinburgh and Cheltenham Festivals, alongside PR coverage in national and regional press.

HarperCollins Children's Books has also secured global licensing rights for film/TV and merchandising for the Mog series of books and Kerr's best-selling picture book, "The Tiger Who Came to Tea." Mel Beer, head of licensing and content development at HarperCollins, is now looking for licensees to develop a range of consumer products targeting nursery/toddlers for toys, arts and crafts and apparel and accessories, as well as greetings, stationery, gifts and

housewares with a retro-spin for young females.
